1071 am is proud to be a part of the Smart Radio Group. The Smart Radio Group broadcasts throughout Queensland (see area coverage map) with stations including Hot Country, Zinc, 4VL and Triple C FM.
As of the 1st July 2009 the station formerly Hot Country 1071 AM will become 1071 AM.

About Kingaroy
Kingaroy Shire has a population of 13,500 residents and takes in an area of 2,422 square kilometres. Kingaroy itself is the largest town in the South Burnett and the regions commercial centre offering all the services, shopping facilities and many of the industries generally expected in much larger centres. The town has its own motels, hotels, caravan parks, bed & breakfasts and cabins; supermarkets and convenience stores and a range of restaurants, fast food outlets and petrol stations.
Kingaroy derives its name from a Wakka Wakka aboriginal word for 'Red Ant' (Kingoori) because of the unique species of ants found in the area which have adapted to the natural color of Kingaroys rich red soils. Kingaroy itself has the most cosmopolitan feel of any South Burnett township, but is still very relaxed and is a friendly, informal country town at heart.
